The most important people at a party are not on the stage. They are the dancers.

In You Are the Line, their movements become the material of the installation. A camera captures the dancing bodies, while custom software extracts their contours in real time. A laser carries these lines beyond the screen and places them onto the surrounding architecture, landscape and surfaces.

The dancers are no longer merely an audience. They become performers, image-makers and temporary drawings of light. Individual gestures overlap, merge and disappear, forming a constantly changing collective choreography between bodies, technology and space.

From the ancient story of Dibutades tracing the shadow of a loved one, through László Moholy-Nagy’s experiments with moving light and shadow, to Myron Krueger’s responsive silhouettes, the human outline marks a threshold between physical presence and its image.

You Are the Line brings this history onto the dance floor. The machine reads the body as an edge, but the line never remains fixed. It follows, escapes and dissolves into the environment.

Who is observing whom? Where does the body end and its image begin? And can a fleeting movement leave a trace without becoming permanent?
